Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Our Core Promise

GPTAnon is built on a single principle: we cannot share what we do not have. Your conversations with AI models are never stored on our servers. They pass through, the AI responds, and nothing remains. This is not a policy we could reverse — it is how the system is engineered.

What We Collect

Anonymous users: We track daily chat counts by IP address to enforce the free tier limit (3 chats/day). This record is automatically reset every 24 hours and is never linked to your identity.

Registered users: We store the username you choose, an optional email address, and your subscription status. We do not require a real name or phone number.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive only your subscription status and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.

Support messages: If you contact us via our support form, we store your message and optional email. These are only accessible to GPTAnon administrators and are never shared.

What We Never Do

Third-Party Services

OpenRouter: We route your anonymised prompts through OpenRouter to reach AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.). Your query reaches those providers without your identity attached.

Stripe: Used for subscription payments. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to payment data.

MIT Tiptoe: Our private web search feature uses cryptographic techniques from MIT research to ensure search queries cannot be linked back to you, even by the search provider.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use a minimal session cookie to keep you logged in between visits. Your chat history is stored only in your browser's local storage — it never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data permanently deletes it.

Your Rights

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us via the support form. Upon deletion, we remove your username, email, and subscription record from our database. There are no chat logs to delete because we never stored any.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how we handle data in a way that reduces your privacy, we will notify registered users by email and post a prominent notice on this page. We will never retroactively change data practices without your consent.
