The gap between anonymous access and provider privacy
Privacy controls differ between AI services and can change over time. It is important to distinguish GPTAnon's saved-history practice from the routing and provider policies that also apply to a request.
A prompt must be processed to produce an answer. GPTAnon sends ordinary chat through its API and OpenRouter to the selected model provider; OpenRouter and that provider have their own privacy terms.
GPTAnon's specific commitment is simple: For ordinary Chat, GPTAnon does not add conversations to a saved server-side chat history or attach them to your account. GPTAnon account identity is not sent as part of the model request. GPTAnon still keeps the account and usage records needed to operate the service. GPTAnon processes prompt content through its API and sends it to OpenRouter, which routes it to the selected AI provider/model. OpenRouter and that provider apply their own privacy policies.
Three privacy controls in this chat
No saved GPTAnon chat history
For ordinary Chat, GPTAnon does not add conversations to a saved server-side chat history or attach them to your account. TLS protects the request in transit while GPTAnon routes it through its API and OpenRouter to the selected provider.
Identity not forwarded
GPTAnon account identity is not sent as part of the model request. GPTAnon still keeps the account and usage records needed to operate the service. GPTAnon processes prompt content through its API and sends it to OpenRouter, which routes it to the selected AI provider/model. OpenRouter and that provider apply their own privacy policies.
Clearable browser/session copy
The browser may keep a temporary copy of recent chat state on your device. Clearing the session removes the GPTAnon browser copy and active transient session state, not records held by OpenRouter or the selected provider.
What GPTAnon does collect (and why)
Being clear about the service data that supports access and limits is part of an anonymous AI chat product:
