The gap between "private" and private
Privacy controls differ between AI services and can change over time. It is important to distinguish GPTAnon's saved-history practice from the routing and provider policies that also apply to a request.
A prompt must be processed to produce an answer. GPTAnon routes ordinary chat through OpenRouter to the selected model provider; each of those services has its own privacy terms.
GPTAnon does not add conversations to a saved server-side chat history. GPTAnon processes prompt content to route the request and return the answer. OpenRouter and the selected model provider receive the content needed to generate the answer and apply their own privacy policies.
Three privacy controls in this chat
No saved server-side history
GPTAnon does not add conversations to a saved server-side chat history. TLS protects the request in transit while GPTAnon routes it to OpenRouter and the selected provider.
Identity not forwarded
GPTAnon account identity is not sent as part of the model request. GPTAnon still keeps the account and usage records needed to operate the service. GPTAnon processes prompt content to route the request and return the answer. OpenRouter and the selected model provider receive the content needed to generate the answer and apply their own privacy policies.
Local-only chat history
If your browser keeps a local copy of recent chat state, it's stored in your browser's local storage — on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it. GPTAnon does not add it to a saved server-side chat history.
